In honor of Halloween tomorrow, I am taking the opportunity to write about my boo. I have mentioned him in passing, but never really him full justice.
I met Eric during the spring of our sophomore year in our Organic Chemistry class. Truth be told, I though he was just another dumb jock who had no business in the course. Little did I know he knew almost as much about what was going as as our teacher. We chatted a few times after tests, but nothing major happened until after he went home for the summer. I got really "happy" and worked up the courage to write on his wall. We have talked every day since and soon afterwards, he became my boo.
If you could go into Build-a-Bear and build a boyfriend, I couldn't have done a better job for myself than Eric. He is thoughtful and sweet, in his own little way. He never performs grand gestures of love, but he always finds his own way to show he cares. Last summer I was back my car down the driveway and hit the garbage can my roommate had left in the driveway. My passenger side mirror was damaged in the incident and Eric promptly pulled out his big roll of duct tape. I laugh when I glance at the mirror now because it reminds me of our relationship: not necessarily the prettiest, but strong, stable, and lasting.
Eric is a dynamo in the kitchen. He began his love affair with food at an early age and has continued to learn ever since. When he was little, his mom would take him to the grocery store and he was always the only toddler to never cry because he was so happy to be surrounded by food. I have given him a kitchen gadget or some sort of food gift for every major event since we have been together and he loves them. He dutifully pulls them out when I am around and shows me how much he likes them.
That's just a little about my boo...
