Home

I am very excited because I get to go home next weekend. When you first leave the nest to go to college, you can't to get away. After a few years of being battered by the realities of being on your own, you also can't wait to go back. I am always very excited to get to go home and see my family. We are all very close (even my brother and sister-in-law in Anapolis) and it's a very comforting and loving environment.

Although the drive is usually the portion of the weekend that I loathe the most, I am looking forward to driving through Wisconsin. Nature puts on a breath-taking show this time of year and I can't wait to be a part of it. North of the Dells along Interstate 90, where there aren't as many travelers and instead of concrete medians separating traffic there are stands of trees, it is a picturesque wonderland this time of year.

I am also looking forward to the simplicity of being home. I am from a town of 900 people that I affectionately refer to as Mayberry. When you walk down the street, everyone will say hello and most will stop and talk to you because inevitably, they know who you are and probably your entire family. Time slows down back home.

Plus...it never hurts that my parents always help a poor college kid out........
