Make it thy business to know thyself, which is the most difficult lesson in the world.

I found the above quote from Miguel Cervantes while scrolling through one of those cheesy inspirational quote websites. Most of them just made me laugh, but this one spoke to me. I would have thought that by my mid-twenties I would have had myself all figured out. My current school year, though difficult, has taught me a lot of valuable lessons about myself.

1)-You would have thought I would have figured this one out a while ago with all the drama that I have been through in the past...DO NOT LIVE WITH GOOD FRIENDS. It almost never works and you generally end up in some awkward no man's land between friends and business partners. This is something that I am currently experiencing, but am hoping that the situation will be rectified by my moving into my own place come July.

2)-I have an absolutely amazing support group. I swear, someone always pops up and surprises me when I need a shoulder to lean on. Today was especially traumatic for me and someone that I thought I had drifted from somewhat spent half an hour on the phone with me just listening to my ventings and ramblings. I guess that when the chips are down, you really do find out who your friends are.

3)-I'm much more of an introvert than I ever thought. Perhaps this is because I am not yet completely comfortable in Alton (who know's that I ever will be), so my reservedness, especially in large groups, is on steroids of late. People seem to perceive me as cold and stiff, but really I am quiet and generally prefer listening to talking...it allows me to learn more.

4)-I have the best fiancee a girl could ask for. You are always there for me, Boo, and you always know just how to handle me. I love you.
